Originally established as the Planning Committee before King Abdulaziz University enrolled its first student, the Committee now oversees all planning, budgeting, and follow-up of expenditures at the University. Under the supervision of the KAU President, the Department for Planning, Budget, and Follow-up assists the President in all matters related to planning, budgeting, and follow-up.

The Department’s responsibilities include:

• Preparing five-year plans in cooperation with the planning committee as well as preparing annual reports on their implementation;

• Preparing the annual KAU plan;

• Monitoring implementation of the budget and preparing reports on work progress;

• Providing requested information to upper management and other University sectors as well as to external stakeholders.
